Blogger on the road

My first car: a beige VW Polo with 30 kW, MY 1976, 7 years old and 65.000 km, equipped with a radio

What I pay attention to when I buy a car: consumption, driving fun, styling and operation

My qualities as a passenger: I navigate, observe and comment

I like to drive cars because: it is just simply fun and I can see and experience the world while I’m at it

My consumption record: drove 150 km purely electrically on one day – with 26 kWh. (in an Ampera prototype)

My dream car for 2030: Ampera convertible with a hydrogen fuel-cell range extender

Blogger at work

The Ampera has been keeping me busy since: 2006

My contribution to the Ampera: more than 20 years experience from Opel fuel-cell and electric vehicle engineering. Battery development, conceptual work in project team, implemented data logger and evaluated data. Specified charging unit performance

The most exciting project phase: from the first battery to series production

What I especially like about the Ampera: smooth and quiet drive-off and acceleration. Re-charging at home.

Always with me at work: my backpack – my mobile office is in there

My Motto: Never give up
