Blogger on the road

My first car: Golf I Diesel, MY 1981.
My oldest car: Opel Ascona A, MY 1975 – always fun!

What I pay attention to when I buy a car: Functionality, power-weight ratio, dynamics, design.

My qualities as a passenger: I’m usually pretty relaxed, and not a bad navigator.

I like to drive cars: Because it’s fun – I love driving a vintage car along winding country roads in beautiful surroundings.

My consumption record: 3.0 litres per 100 kilometres in a Corsa 1.3 CDTI, while meandering along the French wine route. I was even more impressed with the Vectra C, in which I rushed to a colleague’s wedding in Ferrara. I was running late on this Friday night after work … but this 1.9 CDTI didn’t use more than an average of 6.1 litres.

My dream car for 2030: Light, compact, no bells and whistles, fuel efficient.

Blogger at work

The Ampera has been keeping me busy since: mid-2010.

My contribution to the Ampera: Choosing selective and compelling test routes with normal road traffic.

The most exciting project phase: Always the current one

What I especially like about the Ampera: You can tell straight away that this car has been cleverly built using common sense.

Always with me at work: Head and heart, plus my clipboard and pen. I’m an old-fashioned guy.

My motto: If it’s too good to be true, it’s probably not true.
